World Tourism Day 2010
Help Tourism is planning to celebrate World Tourism Day on 27th September 2010. We are planning to visit all Seven World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu with the National and International Journalists to find out the current situation of those places. We believe that this programmes will aware concerned authorities for the conservation of those valuables. The main theme for the year 2010 is "Tourism and Biodiversity". Nepal is very rich country in term of nature and bio-diversity. The Mother Nature has poured all of her fascinating beauties into this amazing Himalayan country. However we, Nepalese people, are not being able to use the wonder of nature that has gifted to us and get benefit from them. Though Nepal has great aspect of tourism, the country was open to the world only in 1950 and the possibilities of tourism in Nepal are not well advertised yet. However Nepal is one among the great destination for the tourist and tourism can be a one of the largest industry that can uplift economic and living standard of the people in Nepal.
To be well benefited from tourism, some significant changes and promotion are not only essential but also vital. The growing tourism industry of Nepal needs attention and care as well as advertisement and reorganization. We have to increase the sense and understanding of responsible tourism not only among the tourism entrepreneurs but also every person and sector that involves in this industry. At the current context of tourism industry in Nepal, environmental, cultural and socio-economic awareness is very much needed. Concerning all these factors and seeing great prospective of tourism in our country, a group of tourism entrepreneur and social worker has formed an organization calling it, HELP Tourism, where HELP stands for Heritage, Environment, Livelihood and People!
The organization is dedicated to inspire the responsible tourism in Nepal throughout different programs and trainings. The organization is aimed to conduct various researches to explore the future possibilities of tourism within the country. At the same time the organization is planning to undertake several activities to raise the awareness about the environment, locality, culture and other aspect of tourism among the tourism workers, villagers and tourist itself. HELP Tourism is aiming to decrease the negative impacts of tourism in the Nepalese society and environment.
